Chief Secretary Farley Augustine says the Tobago House of Assembly will be seeking a court injunction to prevent Jet Ski operators from playing their trade at Pigeon Point.
The case, which will be considered today, comes after the THA secured an emergency injunction preventing all jet ski activity at Pigeon Point and Buccoo Reef.
The matter will be heard virtually before Justice Sherlanne Pierre at 2pm on 1 May.
“We could lose a life tomorrow, or the day after that. So we need to have the Court to act in preserving life and limb,” Mr Augustine said.
The injunction follows the passage of the Tobago Marine Parks Bill 2026 during a special sitting of the Assembly in Scarborough.
The legislation is aimed at strengthening regulation and enforcement within marine spaces.
The injunction followed the death of Saydee Jogie on April 8, after a jet ski hit with her and her family at Pigeon Point.
