Peter Cullen, best known for voicing Optimus Prime in the ‘Transformers’ franchise, has died.
He was 85.
According to TMZ, the news was confirmed by his agent, who said he passed away at his Los Angeles home on Wednesday.
A cause of death is unclear.
Cullen voiced Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots, in the original 1980s “Transformers” animated TV series.
He later returned to the role in the Michael Bay film series.
He also voiced many other notable and iconic characters including Eeyore in the “Winnie the Pooh” franchise, Monterey Jack in “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers”, the first voice of KARR in “Knight Rider”, and Predator in the 1987 “Predator” film.
