Tropical Storm Isaias has formed off the coast of Mexico and is expected to strengthen over the next few days.
The National Hurricane Centre says maximum sustained winds have increased to near 75 km/h, with higher gusts.
Rapid strengthening is forecast over the next day or two, and Isaias could become a hurricane by Thursday and is expected to remain one when it makes landfall in the US.
If it does, it will be the first hurricane for the 2026 Atlantic Season.
On the forecast track, Isaias is expected to pass to the north of the Yucatan Peninsula on Thursday and approach the U.S. northern Gulf Coast on Friday.
Storm Surge Watches, Hurricane Watches and Tropical Storm Watches have been issued for various part of the US.
