English actor Tim Curry has died at the age of 80.

According to Variety, he passed away on Tuesday in Los Angeles.

A cause of death was not immediately available, though Curry had suffered from several health issues since having a severe stroke in 2012.

Curry soared to fame in the ‘70s as the flamboyant star of the campy horror movie stage spoof “The Rocky Horror Show” and its screen version “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”.

He was also well known for his role as Pennywise in the original screen adaptation of Stephen King’s “It” and the concierge in “Home Alone 2 – Lost in New York”.

In addition to numerous film and TV roles, Curry was prolific on West End and Broadway, received an Emmy Award and was nominated for a Grammy Award, two Olivier Awards and three Tony Awards.
