2026/2027 flu vaccines are available at public health facilities throughout Trinidad and Tobago.

This information comes from the Health Ministry, which continues to monitor the circulation of respiratory illnesses, including influenza and COVID-19.

It says at this time, surveillance data does not indicate an unusual increase in respiratory illnesses.

And while it says the public will be advised of any significant changes in disease trends, those in high-risk categories, or caring for persons in these groups, should get vaccinated.

High-risk categories include: children: ages 6 months to 5 years, adults: ages 65 years and older, pregnant women, persons living with Non-Communicable Diseases, and Healthcare workers.

The 2026/2027 vaccine is composed of Inactivated Influenza Virus Antigens covering three strains, namely: Influenza Type A (H1N1) Switzerland strain Influenza Type A (H3N2) Michigan strain, and Influenza Type B Tokyo strain.
