WASA says flushing is underway in affected areas to clear temporary water discolouration following scheduled maintenance at Desalcott.
In a release today, the Authority said during the Desalcott shutdown, WASA had to make some adjustments to the water transmission system.
As a result, when normal pressure was restored, that stirred up some sediment in the lines, which caused the temporary discolouration.
WASA has assured that the water remains safe for domestic use and those affected by discoloured water in the tap are advised to run their taps for a few minutes to flush it out the plumbing.
