The arrival of Contour Airlines in Trinidad and Tobago is being hailed as another boost for the country’s tourism drive.

The airline made its inaugural flight into Piarco International Airport last night, arriving from Dominica.

Trade Minister Satyakama Maharaj says the new service is expected to strengthen regional connectivity while supporting growth in tourism.

Minister Maharaj also pointed to several major hotel developments in the pipeline, as Government targets tourism contributing 12 percent of GDP by 2030.

Civil Aviation Minister Eli Zakour meanwhile highlighted progress in expanding T&T’s air agreements with other countries.

Contour Airlines will operate twice-weekly non-stop flights between Trinidad and Dominica, with onward connections to Puerto Rico and St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
