T&TEC says an opossum is the cause a brief power disruption that affected several communities in Trinidad last night.
In a statement issued today, the Commission said based on conclusive evidence, the animal caused a fault on the Bamboo-Orange Grove 66-kilovolt circuit, resulting in a power dip at around 8PM.
The dip lasted about 10 seconds and affected some industrial customers, as well as residential areas including Madras Road, Chin Chin Road and St Lucien Road in Diego Martin.
T&TEC says its technical teams quickly addressed the fault and restored power, adding that the incident was isolated and was not related to the El Niño weather phenomenon.
