New laser speed detection devices and upgraded breathalyser testing units are coming to clamp down on errant motorists.
This was announced in the Senate this morning by Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander, who outlined steps being taken to actively enforce speed limits and other road safety measures.
Minister Alexander also hinted that highway speed limit and red-light enforcement cameras are being planned for rollout.
However, he gave no timeline on this, stating simply that it will be announced by the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation.
