T&T is expected to see below-normal rainfall during the first half of October, despite several wet days being forecast.

In its Agro-Met Forecast, the Met Service says wetter conditions are expected from October 2nd to 5th, 8th to 9th and 12th to 13th, with a high risk of flooding in low-lying areas during prolonged wet spells.

Hot conditions are also expected, with an 80% chance of moderately severe heat lasting up to three days in eastern areas.

Temperatures could reach 34˚C in Trinidad and 33˚C in Tobago, but may feel as hot as 37 to 44 degrees because of humidity.

The TTMS also warns that drought conditions are developing, while no tropical cyclone activity is expected up to October 7th.
