Trinbago Knight Riders captain Nicholas Pooran remains hopeful his team can qualify for the CPL playoffs, despite last evening’s defeat to the Guyana Amazon Warriors.
Speaking after the match, Pooran admitted the team has struggled to put together a complete performance this season, particularly with the pace bowling.
He also pointed to the impact of rain, saying wet conditions can make it difficult for a team built heavily around spin.
However, Pooran said TKR must find ways to adapt, adding that the team remains optimistic about its playoff chances.
Following last night’s match, the Guyana Amazon Warriors remain unbeaten, after defeating TKR by nine runs via the DLS method.
Shimron Hetmyer was the standout performer, smashing a record-equalling CPL century in the Warriors’ total of 185 for five from 16 overs.
Hetmyer scored 111 not out from 43 balls, reaching his century in just 40 deliveries.
