More than 150 workers, from the National Programme for the Upkeep of Public Spaces, have completed cleanup operations following yesterday’s Independence Day celebrations.
Local Government Minister Khadijah Ameen praised the teams, for their efforts and encouraged them to complete the work by 5AM.
Cleanup operations focused on the Queen’s Park Savannah following the Independence Cultural Show and the Queen’s Park Oval after the CPL cricket match.
Work was also carried out along major thoroughfares, including Ariapita Avenue, Tragarete Road and the Western Main Road.
