Opposition Leader Pennelope Beckles claims T&T is in a recession.
Today, Mrs Beckles kicked off debate on the fiscal package, by delivering her response to the budget presented by Finance Minister Dave Tancoo on Monday.
According to her, the economic review forecasts contraction in the GDP for a second consecutive year, by 2.2%
She accused the Minister, Central Bank Governor and others of failing to say what this means.
The Opposition Leader also called on the Finance Minister to explain how money withdrawn from the Heritage and Stabilisation Fund was spent.
According to her, US$510 million has been taken out of the fund.
