Moody’s Investor Services has maintained T&T’s Ba2 credit rating with a stable outlook, citing strong financial reserves and the prospect of a recovery in natural gas production.

According to the Finance Ministry, the ratings agency highlighted the Heritage and Stabilisation Fund and Government cash holdings as important fiscal buffers, in its latest assessment.

The Ministry added that Moody’s has also projected a rebound in domestic gas production by the end of 2027, which it says could support economic growth and foreign-exchange earnings.

The assessment follows the agency’s decision in June to change the country’s outlook from negative to stable.
