The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) generated an estimated total event impact of US$36.8 million for Trinidad and Tobago during the 2025 tournament, according to an independent Economic Impact Assessment conducted by GSIQ.

The report shows that matches played in Tarouba delivered a direct economic impact of US$24.6 million, supported by an additional US$12.2 million in international media value promoting the Visit Trinidad brand across global broadcast, digital and social platforms.

A total of 58,934 fans attended matches in Trinidad and Tobago during the tournament, representing a 2% increase compared to the previous year. Of that figure, 2,984 were international visitors who stayed an average of 3.9 nights. Their spending contributed an estimated US$15.3 million to the local economy, benefiting hotels, restaurants, transport operators, and retail businesses.

The report also highlights record levels of CPL investment into Trinidad and Tobago. In 2025 alone, the tournament spent US$5 million locally, created 261 jobs, invested US$1.2 million with local suppliers, and allocated US$2.1 million in salaries. Over the past decade, CPL and the Trinbago Knight Riders have contributed US$35.7 million to the local economy, with this year marking the highest annual investment to date.

In terms of global exposure, the tournament generated US$12.2 million in media value, including US$11.1 million from broadcast coverage. India remained the most valuable overseas market, contributing US$5.2 million, or 43% of total media value.

CPL Chief Executive Officer Pete Russell said Trinidad and Tobago remains “one of the heartbeat venues” of the tournament, noting that the economic impact reflects job creation, supplier investment, tourism growth, and global exposure driven by the league.
