TTCB President Azim Bassarath has renewed his call for the national cricket team be awarded at the highest level for winning the 2026 West Indies Four-Day Championship.
Speaking to 103.1FM News at a celebratory dinner in honor of the players last night, he said there is hope that the government will reward the players at this year’s National Award Ceremony.
It follows Trinidad and Tobago’s first title in the regional four-day competition in 20 years.
Also present to congratulate the cricketers was former FIFA Vice President Jack Warner, who encouraged Mr. Bassarath to now ascend the global cricket hierarchy.
At the ceremony, each player, coach and support staff received a token from the TTCB.
