PSA President Felisha Thomas says relations between the union and Government remain strong, with the 10% offer to public servants still on the table.
Her comments came as she met today with Public Utilities Minister Barry Padarath for talks over outstanding negotiations with WASA.
Last week, there were protests by workers, after talks reportedly stalled.
One concern raised was a lack of certain documentation required from WASA’s management, and according to reports, the Authority’s CEO has now been asked to ensure this is advanced within the next few days.
The Minister also claims that recent developments were due largely to communication issues and believes the PSA’s concerns are reasonable.
The talks have reportedly been described as fruitful.
Ms Thomas meanwhile is reputed to have warned former Public Utilities Minister Marvin Gonzales to “Stay out of WASA’s business”.
This led Mr Gonzales to share a video on social media, in which he says he is prepared to both defend his record, and hold the current administration to account.
He added that he will continue to ask “difficult questions” as it is his responsibility as an elected member of Parliament.
A response was later issued by Minister Padarath, who said he was committed to settling workers’ issues and will not take advice from Mr Gonzales or the PNM.
