All 777 government and government-assisted schools in T&T reopened this morning for the new academic year.
The Ministry of Education says more than 350 schools have benefited from its Vacation Repair Programme, with outstanding work at a few schools to continue after school hours and on weekends.
It assures required health and safety standards will be maintained to help protect students and staff.
Meanwhile, the Ministry has also reiterated a zero-tolerance approach to school violence, and police in schools will continue in facilities with heightened safety concerns.
Minister, Dr. Michael Dowlath, has echoed the Prime Minister’s sentiments on regular attendance, discipline, respect for educators and active parental responsibility.
He also noted that incoming form one students will be receiving their laptops, but no dates were given on the distribution.
