A 23-year-old Venezuelan woman is expected to appear in court today on charges of cruelty to a child and wasteful employment.
Police said the charges stem from a report on August 20th, when the woman went to the South Oropouche Police Station with a baby.
She claimed she found the child abandoned along the Old Southern Main Road.
Following investigations, the woman was detained on September 3rd and formally charged yesterday.
