Palestine’s Ambassador to CARICOM is concerned about the trajectory of T&T’s relationship with Israel.
Last week, government officials met with an Israeli team to discuss bilateral cooperation in areas such as agriculture, cybersecurity, smart cities, and climate resilience.
During a virtual media briefing held today, Ambassador Dr Linda Sobeh Ali expressed respect for T&T’s sovereignty, but questioned how Israel can help build one country, while actively destroying others.
Ambassador Ali says she intends to communicate her concerns directly to T&T’s Government and will do so in person.
She also articulated this thought regarding diplomatic missions in Jerusalem.
Ambassador Ali also urging T&T and other countries in the region to use their voice to speak up for Palestine and its future.
T&T is one of the 143 countries to have recognized Palestine and has also previously advocated for a 2-state solution.
103.1FM has reached out to Foreign Affairs Minister Sean Sobers for a comment on this matter.
