Senior Superintendent for the North Eastern Division, Claire Guy-Allen, has reported a 38% decrease in serious crime across the division, for the period January 1st to June 15th, 2026.
During a TTPS media briefing this morning, she said fewer than 192 serious crimes were recorded compared to the same period last year, with a detection rate of 27%.
She also outlined some of the key reductions.
Senior Superintendent Guy-Allen also noted the increase for murder for the period from 20 to 24.
She said the overall reduction was due to strategic and intelligence-led policing, community engagement, and operational planning, with the State of Emergency described as only a supporting factor.
