Two pieces of equipment have been delivered to help manage Sargassum seaweed along the east coast.

These were handed over yesterday to the Sangre Grande and Mayaro/Rio Claro Regional Corporations.

According to Agriculture Minster Ravi Ratiram, it represents an important investment in protecting local beaches, supporting fisherfolk, strengthening tourism, and improving the quality of life for residents and visitors.

Also present was Local Government Minister Khadijah Ameen, who says efforts will continue to find ways to use the sargassum instead of simply disposing of it.
