Chief Justice Ronnie Boodoosingh is due to leave the country today to attend a two-day regional conference on criminal justice reform in Barbados.
The Court Executive Administrator, Jamie Philbert, will also attend.
The two-day conference will bring together Chief Justices and other key stakeholders from across the region to discuss strategies for reducing criminal case backlogs and review Standard Operating Procedures within regional criminal justice systems.
The discussions are expected to foster greater collaboration and facilitate the sharing of best practices aimed at improving the administration of justice throughout the Caribbean.
Justice Boodoosingh is scheduled to return to T&T on Saturday.
During his absence, Justice Prakash Moosai, J.A., will perform the functions of Chief Justice.
