The Met Service says a mixed weather pattern across T&T for the first half of June, as at least two tropical waves and brief visits of the ITCZ move across the region, alongside significant Saharan dust.
In its Agro-Met Forecast, from now until June 15th, there is a 65 to 80% probability of below-normal rainfall overall.
Wet days are most likely between June 4th to 8th, and again from June 11th to 12th.
Despite these rainfall events, warm to very warm conditions are also expected, with a moderate risk of heat-related impacts.
Farmers are being advised to prepare for reduced soil moisture, possible crop stress, and increased risk of plant diseases during humid, wet periods.
Meanwhile, no tropical cyclone activity is expected over the next five days, up to June 7th.
