Minister of Land and Legal Affairs Saddam Hosein is accusing critics of engaging in what he described as “political mischief” over the Government’s public-private partnership housing programme, Landmark TT.
Speaking in the Lower House this afternoon, he rejected claims that state lands were transferred to private developers at “peppercorn” rates.
He also claimed no state lands have been sold under the Landmark TT housing model, adding that said developers will finance the full cost of construction.
Minister Hosein maintained that the Government’s housing programme is designed to expand access to affordable housing, while generating revenue from previously unused or under-utilised state lands.
