CARICOM has voiced concern over increasing economic and financial measures against Cuba, saying the restrictions are worsening conditions for those living on the island.
In a statement, CARICOM’s Council for Foreign and Community Relations said Cuba poses no threat to any nation and condemned restrictions impacting fuel supplies to the island.
It also reaffirmed the importance of preserving the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.
The Council added that any threat of military aggression could destabilise the region and renewed calls for an end to the decades-long embargo on Cuba.
CARICOM also noted that T&T and Guyana have reserved their positions on the statement.
