Uganda has closed its border with the Democratic Republic of Congo with immediate effect, due to a rise in suspected Ebola cases.
According to AP News, authorities say only emergency crossings will be allowed, with strict isolation measures in place for anyone entering from Congo.
The decision was made after Ugandan health workers came into contact with infected patients entering from Congo, before the outbreak was confirmed.
The current outbreak involves a rare strain of Ebola, with no approved treatment or vaccine, raising concerns about further spread into Uganda.
