A Chaguanas man and his teenage girlfriend have appeared in court charged with the murder of Shayana Ruiz.
The 25-year-old victim was fatally stabbed during an argument over money on July 29th 2026.
According to the TTPS, the female suspect allegedly wielded the knife, with both suspects then fleeing the scene.
Officers subsequently arrested 25-year-old Darian Phillip of Edinburgh 500 and 18-year-old Daniella Connell of Crown Trace Enterprise.
Both appeared before Master Tracey Vidale, in the North Criminal Court B last Thursday, with a status hearing set for October 8th, 2026 and a Sufficiency Hearing scheduled for April 13th 2027.
