A large quantity of cigarettes and possible narcotics have been seized by officers at the Port of Spain Prison.
Around 4:30am today, the officers intercepted three packages thrown over the perimeter wall.
These packages contained:
- 760 cigarettes
- 49 packs of RAW wrapping papers
- 38 grams of a plant-like material
- One gram of a white powdery substance
- 13 cigarette lighters
The Prison Service says investigations are continuing, with the assistance of external law enforcement agencies, to identify and apprehend the persons responsible.
