Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has signaled a major shift in Government’s approach to state-owned enterprises, announcing plans to divest several entities.
During last evening’s sod turning ceremony for the new Marriott resort at Rocky Point, Tobago, she identified four state-owned entities targeted for divestment.
The Prime Minister questioned the efficiency of several state-owned enterprises, arguing Government resources are not being managed effectively.
Mrs Persad-Bissessar said expressions of interest and requests for proposals will be issued as the government seeks greater private-sector investment and partnerships.
