Last-minute cancellations by Finance Ministers Dave Tancoo and Dr Kennedy Swaratsingh this morning did not dampen the T&T Chamber’s Annual Post-Budget Meeting.
Despite the expressed disappointment by several members, Chamber President Karen Yip Chuck noted that the strong panel and speakers still offered an opportunity for insightful discussion.
In her address this morning, she said the true test of the national budget will be how it delivers tangible benefits and economic growth.
Meanwhile, speaking with the media, Ms Yip Chuck said no new taxes and proposed reductions in certain taxes could provide some relief for businesses.
Ms Yip Chuck Yip also called on the Government to reinforce measures for ease of business, and said the true test of the budget will be whether it reduces the cost of doing business, boosts investment and creates opportunities for growth.
