The OWTU has paid its respects to The Mighty Sparrow, with members attending the public viewing at SAPA.
The late calypsonian lay in repose at the San Fernando venue today.
Led by President General Ancel Roget, the contingent signed the visitors’ book and a commemorative poster celebrating Sparrow’s remarkable accomplishments and greatest hits.
The union also recognized the power of his music, hailing him as “a powerful voice on social issues, politics, injustice, and everyday life.”
The OWTU previously honoured Sparrow’s contribution to T&T’s cultural heritage in 2015, when it presented him with an award during Calypso History Month.
Tomorrow, his will lay in repose at NAPA in Port of Spain.
Then on Friday, a Celebration of Life will be held, which includes a procession in the capital and a tribute programme at NAPA.
