WASA repairs

Repairs to a ruptured 30-inch transmission main along the eastbound lane of the Beetham Highway have been completed, with the Water and Sewerage Authority now working to restore service to affected communities.

The pipeline ruptured during a cleanup exercise on Thursday, disrupting water supplies to several areas.

WASA says emergency crews responded immediately, carrying out dewatering and repair operations at Beetham Gardens.

Acting CEO Dain Maharaj visited the site alongside technical teams to oversee restoration efforts.

The El Socorro Booster Station, which was temporarily shut down during repairs, has partially resumed operations, with one booster back online and the second expected to restart following final system checks.
