WASA is condemning what it says is a “brazen act of vandalism” at the Biche Booster Station.

It says critical electrical wires were stolen, leading to a complete power failure at the facility.

The incident was discovered early this morning, forcing station offline at 6am and disrupting the water supply to several communities.

According to the Authority, residents in Charuma, Biche, Plum Mitan, and all adjoining side streets are currently experiencing low water pressure or service interruptions.

T&TEC is now on the ground, working to repair the damaged electrical infrastructure and restore normal operations.

WASA reminds that vandalism of public property is a criminal offence, with penalties that include fines and imprisonment.

It is encouraging members of the public to report any suspicious activity via the Vandalism Hotline: 496-6738.
