Patriotic Front Leader, Mickela Panday, has criticized the impending move to extend the State of Emergency, claiming ulterior motives by the Government.
In a video uploaded to social media, she claims the “timeline” shows the extension coinciding with recent public dissent and protests.
Ms Panday also believes an extension is not needed, whether or not the SoE has been successful thus far in tackling crime.
The Patriotic Front Leader also accused the Government of dismissing public dissent as “hatred” instead of listening to what is being said.
Tomorrow, the Parliament will debate the extension of the current SoE, which is due to expire on June 17th.
If approved, it will continue until September.
