The University of the West Indies has secured a $100,000 CAD grant from Scotiabank to advance green hydrogen research in Trinidad and Tobago.
The project aims to help reduce emissions in the country’s petrochemical sector, while also building local expertise through a new lab-scale system.
Additionally, students and researchers are expected to benefit from hands-on experience in next-generation energy solutions.
The funding comes from Scotiabank’s Climate Action Research Fund, which supports climate innovation and long-term decarbonization efforts.
The initiative, announced ahead of Earth Day on April 22nd, positions T&T to play a role in the global shift toward cleaner energy.
