A scheduled webinar by the Institute of International Relations, at the UWI St Augustine Campus, has been cancelled, due to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The webinar and lecture, titled “The United Obsession with Israel: The Strange Coalition of Contradiction,” was set to feature former Israeli Ambassador Ephraim Ben Matityahu.
In a statement, the IIR apologized to those affected, noting that the conflict has impacted people directly and indirectly, including through the intense emotions it evokes.
The institute reaffirmed its commitment to academic freedom, human rights, respectful dialogue and peace.
