The US has revoked more than 175,000 visas from foreign nationals, under President Trump’s current administration, as part of its ongoing vetting of visa holders.
The US State Department says most of the revocations followed law enforcement encounters involving crimes such as assault, driving under the influence, theft and drug offences.
Others were linked to visa violations, fraud, calls for violence and national security concerns.
State Secretary Marco Rubio also determined that some foreign nationals are deportable on foreign policy grounds.
These include people linked to the Cuban and Iranian Governments, and others accused of supporting violence against US officials.
