Six improvised weapons have been seized at the Eastern Correctional and Rehabilitation Centre.
Around 10:45am yesterday, officers conducted a search exercise in the Hope Division, with the items subsequently found concealed at the top of a cell.
The Prison Service says improvised weapons pose a serious threat within the correctional environment, as it can be used against guards and inmates alike.
It adds that their detection and removal remain critical to maintaining order, reducing the risk of violence and preserving a safe and secure environment.
