The TTPS says it is actively moving ahead urgently with plans to procure and deploy Body-Worn Cameras to officers.
It says these will provide an objective record of police-public interactions, help support investigations and court proceedings, protect officers from false allegations, and encourage better conduct during encounters.
An Expression of Interest has been issued to qualified companies to supply and commission the systems, with submissions open until July 22nd.
The TTPS says the initiative forms part of its wider transformation agenda aimed at modernising the police service and strengthening public trust.
