Delivery drivers and business owners are being urged to exercise increased caution when conducting deliveries.
This warning from the TTPS comes as online shopping and home delivery services continue to grow across the country.
It says while many transactions are conducted without issue, persons are encouraged to remain vigilant and take proactive steps to protect themselves.
Suggested safety tips include:
- Confirming orders and delivery details before dispatching or proceeding to a location
- Being mindful of vague or last-minute changes to delivery instructions.
- Arranging deliveries in well-lit, populated, or easily accessible areas, whenever possible.
- To avoid entering isolated or unfamiliar locations alone.
- To consider implementing verification systems for customers, especially for high-value orders.
