Former Prime Minister Stuart Young is calling for a criminal investigation into the selection of contractors for HDC initiatives.
During a media briefing today, he claimed that some of those selected were only incorporated in 2026 and have never built a house.
He says over three billion dollars is being spent and he went on to list some of the companies allegedly selected, along with the amounts they are to receive.
Mr Young also declined to comment on the recent controversy surrounding Senator Janelle John-Bates.
There are allegations that Ms John-Bates coached a key witness she was tasked with scrutinizing as a member of the Public Accounts and Administration Committee.
The question was put to Mr Young during today’s briefing.
The PNM is also yet to issue a statement or comment on the matter.
