Trinidad and Tobago’s Senior Men’s National Team will step up preparations for the CONCACAF Nations League with an international friendly against the Russia national football team on June 9 at the Kaliningrad Stadium.
The match, part of their build-up to September’s Nations League campaign, will give interim head coach Derek King an opportunity to further assess his squad against high-level opposition.
King said the fixture is an important test of structure, discipline, and chemistry as the team continues shaping its identity ahead of competitive action later this year.
He added that facing a strong European side will help measure progress and sharpen the team’s readiness for tougher assignments.
Forward Levi Garcia, who plays his club football with Spartak Moscow, is expected to have a special connection to the match, with King noting the significance of him representing Trinidad and Tobago in a country where he currently plays professionally.
Further friendly matches are expected to be confirmed as T&T continue ramping up preparations for the Nations League campaign.
