From Monday, T&T will begin a national humanitarian relief effort for Venezuela, following Wednesday’s fatal earthquakes.
Donations will be accepted at Port of Point Lisas, across all 14 municipal corporations and the Tobago Emergency Management Agency.
Financial contributions can also be made to a dedicated disaster relief fund at First Citizens Bank.
Officials say only essential items such as medical supplies, food, hygiene products, and bedding should be donated, as coordination continues with Venezuelan authorities for delivery of aid.
Monetary donations can be made to the Venezuela Disaster Relief Fund at First Citizens Bank, account number 3209042, at any branch or via online transfer.
Meanwhile, financial contributions are being raised by Sewa TT, for victims of the Venezuela earthquakes.
The organisation says it is focusing on financial aid rather than goods at this stage, to ensure a targeted and coordinated response with humanitarian partners.
Members of the public can donate at several participating supermarkets nationwide, with funds going directly to SEWA-TT’s Venezuela Earthquake Relief Campaign.
Participating stores include:
