Acting Corporal Anusha Eversley died from strangulation, along with blunt force and sharp force injuries.

This update comes from Police Commissioner Allister Guevarro, who spoke during a media briefing this afternoon.

The Commissioner also confirmed that six men, ages 16 to 33, remain in custody, while two men and one woman have been released.

As investigations continue into yesterday’s murder at the San Fernando Municipal Police Headquarters, Mr Guevarro said immediate interventions are being implemented.

Mr Guevarro added that up to this time, 38 firearms, including a submachine gun and 929 rounds of ammunition, have been recovered.

He added that an audit is continuing to determine the full extent of what was stolen.

He has reiterated that the incident is not being treated as a targeted attack on law enforcement, noting that such a situation is unprecedented and, he hopes, will not happen again.

Meanwhile, in a separate investigation, the Commissioner says three individuals are assisting police following the discovery of multiple bodies at the Cumuto Cemetery.

Officers are working to confirm the identities of the remains, in what he described as an apparent attempt to dispose of human remains.

He said finger samples from six adult bodies are being used for identification.

In other developments, no arrests have yet been made in connection with the quadruple murder in Morvant.

The Commissioner confirmed that while no arrests have been made, several persons of interest have been identified, and investigations are ongoing.
