Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander says three joint police-army posts are nearing completion, with the Eddie Hart Grounds facility almost ready.
Earlier this week, the Minister said the posts were expected to be operational by this week.
However, speaking to 103.1FM News today, he said the priority is ensuring the facilities are fully outfitted before they are occupied.
Mr Alexander adds that the posts will be supported by foot and mobile patrols and will focus on both crime response and community policing.
He says officers will engage with schools, churches and businesses to build stronger relationships with communities, with plans also being developed for Tobago.
