Authorities in St Vincent and the Grenadines are reminding of the impending closure of conch season.

It says between September 1st and November 30th, no person will be allowed to fish for or sell conch.

The exceptions are hotels and restuaurants, however they will only be allowed to sell conch during the first 30 days of the cosed season.

Beyond that time, all conch sales will be strictly prohibited.

The nation’s Ministry of Fisheries says the closed season allows marine resources to reproduce, grow and replenish, ensuring healthy populations for future generations.
