CPL is partnering with UWI’s Faculty of Sport for the return of its internship programme for the 2026 tournament.
Now in its 10th year, the initiative will run from July to September 2026.
21 students will have the option to undertake a fully accredited three-credit Sports Marketing course, to be delivered online by UWI lecturers.
The course provides a strong academic foundation in sports marketing, which students will then apply in real-time as members of the CPL’s marketing team during the tournament.
CPL says interns will gain direct experience at matches held across seven host nations: Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, St Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Trinidad & Tobago.
It adds, “This immersive exposure gives participants a front-row seat to the operations of an international sporting event, while contributing meaningfully to CPL’s promotional efforts on the ground. Over the years, the programme has empowered dozens of young professionals from across the Caribbean, many of whom have gone on to secure paid roles with CPL and other organisations in the sports and entertainment industries.”
CPL CEO, Pete Russell adds, “As we enter the tenth year of this programme, it is incredibly rewarding to see how many young Caribbean professionals have used this opportunity as a launchpad for their careers. The internship gives students genuine hands-on experience in a fast-paced international sporting environment, and every year they make an important contribution to the CPL team.”
Applications for interested persons are now open online.
