Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has reaffirmed that sport and youth development are central to the Government’s national transformation agenda.
Speaking at last night’s East-West Corridor Football League Finals at Hasely Crawford Stadium, she said grassroots initiatives like this strengthen communities and the nation’s future.
The Prime Minister highlighted that the league provides mentorship, youth development, healthy recreation, and personal growth, giving young people positive spaces to learn, excel, and believe in themselves.
She added that communities across T&T are calling for opportunity, structure, and safe spaces for youth, adding that investing in young people builds stronger and safer communities
