High Court Judge Gillian Lucky is encouraging high-performing SEA students to return home and contribute to Trinidad and Tobago after pursuing studies abroad.
Speaking at the Presbyterian Primary Schools’ Board of Education 2025 SEA Awards function on Saturday, Justice Lucky urged students to use their talents to help build the nation rather than become leaders in other countries.
She told the students that academic brilliance alone does not make a great leader, stressing that humility, kindness, integrity and compassion are equally important qualities.
Justice Lucky pointed to former Prime Ministers Eric Williams and Basdeo Panday as examples of nationals who studied abroad but returned home to contribute to national development.
